Happy Birthday, friend!
I will always remember my sister’s best friend, Debbie and all the time I spent with you because of Lena. I remember wanting to be just like the both of you—beautiful, kind, smart, the list goes on and on. And as the right of all little sisters, I was tagging along with the big girls. I remember one trip you took with us to Utah and half way there when we had a pit stop, you just had to go for a run. I remember thinking how admirable it was that you put your running shoes on and went for a jog! As a runner for the past 14 years I can relate to that feeling of just needing to put your running shoes on and go!
I have countless memories of you at our house and us at yours and of course too many stories to re-count but I do remember you and Lena dressing me up (I couldn’t have been more than 6 years old) for me to “marry” your brother who was close to my age! You had a wedding for us and everything!
To a girl who is full of life! The world needs you! Happy 40th, Debbie!
Warmly, Lyz Hurst Metcalf
